Analysing the opening scene to Scream, we should first note the use of clothing and the environment, with what appears to be a suburban home, decorated and furnished in a very bright, soothing and casual way. We see nice kitchenware, organic plants hanging from pots and lightly coloured furniture with household items like books, paintings and other complimentary items.
This theme or light is also further represented by the characters choice of clothing, being represented in a creme coloured sweater and a very pale blue-ish jeans, showing what might be represented as a relaxed, nice environment.
The body language used is initially flirtations and casual, but as soon as the creep reveals hes watching our character she soon turns to fear and confusion, with facial expressions of concern as she tries to find from where hes looking, fervently locking doors and turning on lights.
- The hair and makeup done is very light, what appears to be a simple bowl-cut and possibly some lipstick.
- The lighting is very bright on the inside of the house, whilst the outside is dim with only moonlight as a source of light.
- The setting of the home appears to be in a very desolate area, with little to no urban buildings visible through the windows of the home.
